Spring fashion week brings us not only the latest clothing trends to look forward to, but offers insight into hair trends as well. Check out the noteworthy hairstyles that have made their debuts at the Paris, Milan, London, and New York 2017 Fashion Week runways.
Boho Braids
Models walked down the Missoni runway sporting a very 60’s/70’s hippie inspired hairdo. Fuss-free straight hair was made more interesting with accents braids. Throw these tiny braids into your down-’do for an instant chic, fashion-forward upgrade.
Wet Hair Look
Models on several runways displayed slicked-back locks that appeared to be wet. This look is achieved with a lot of hair gel, and is best reserved for statement-making occasions rather than everyday wear.
Sleek Blowout
This one never goes out of style. This pretty, feminine look is achieved by giving your hair a deep side part and blow drying it with a round brush to achieve shine, bounce, and ends that are slightly curled. A perfect blowout can be difficult to achieve at home on your own, so make sure to ask your stylist for this finishing touch after receiving a cut and/or coloring service.
Mushroom Cut
A surprise on the runway, Jeremy Scott models brought back an unlikely hair trend: the mushroom cut. Feeling bold enough to try this bowl-shaped bob? Ask your stylist! Expect a lot of upkeep with this one, though.
Low Ponytail
The ponytail has always been an easy breezy hairstyle, and it has never been as fuss-free as it is when it’s worn low and fastened at the base of the neck, as seen on several runways this Fashion Week. This style is simple enough to be worn on a daily basis, or can be dressed up for an evening out with the right accessories, like lacquered hair clips or big, pretty bows.
Bold Color
This trend isn’t exactly new, but Fashion Week has proved it’s still going strong. Models were sporting all-over shades in pastel colors, or pops of brightly colored highlights in shades of blue and purple. A rainbow of bright and bold colors can be achieved on your hair, but it’s best to leave this coloring project to a professional stylist.
