Let it go, let it go, can't hold it back anymore! Unless you‘ve been living under a rock, you know these famous words are from Disney’s Frozen princess Elsa. When you imagine booking a spa day, you’re probably envisioning walking out and feeling like a supermodel, maybe you even had a blowout to complete the look. However, for every positive spa day experience, there are probably equally funny or cringe-worthy incidents. We want you to have a great and relaxing day.
Here are some ways make the most of your spa experience and oppositely, some things to avoid.
- Know your expectations: Make some phone calls to determine what type of treatment you’re looking for, and what the spa is known for, or specializes in. Many spas offer specials or services done specifically for your squad if that’s your intention. Also ask about cancellation policy, tipping, and required deposit.
- Make your intentions clear: If you are an experienced spa dweller and know exactly what you want, make those intentions clear, such as the type of pressure you would like during a massage, the temperature of the room, or products they use. If you are a newbie, it might be a good idea to have a set of questions beforehand so you’re ready to ask before actually scheduling.
- Arrive early! This is a big one, and one that is oftentimes overlooked. If you come early (about a half-hour) that gives us time to make you feel more welcomed and comfortable. We can give you a general tour if it’s your first time, or show you where you can put your belongings. This is our time to make you feel welcome and break the ice a little.
- Speak up: If anything is starting to feel uncomfortable or painful during your treatment let us know so we can adjust to your needs. Again, we want this to be a positive experience for you, so if you don’t say anything, we won’t know what techniques are satisfying for you.
- Medication awareness: If you’re currently taking any medication, or have an allergy and are uncertain about possible adverse side effects or health risks from some of our products, please check with your medical provider beforehand.
R.E.S.P.E.C.T Aretha Franklin belted out these memorable lyrics for a good reason. Please be respectful of other guests. This is especially true if you are with a group. We know you are excited and we are too, however, there are other guests who might find it disruptful if you are talking loudly, giggling, or being disruptive when they’re trying to unwind.
Create memories: Lastly, view the spa day as an investment in yourself and your health. We want you to return and will do everything we can to make your day memorable.
So spa dwellers, you need to think, “It's time to see what I can do, to test the limits and break through!” Sorry, more Elsa, because nobody can honestly let go of Frozen.
